President
Robert Schlaff ‘99

Robert Schlaff is currently the president of The Yale Record Corporation, where he leads America's oldest college humor magazine—so, basically, he's steering a 150-year-old ship built on puns. His involvement with The Yale Record began during his college years, when he served as Publisher and Chairman from 97-99, a time when the internet was still mostly cat videos, and comedy was mainly distributed on paper.

When he's not ensuring the survival of The Yale Record, Schlaff dabbles in financial technology—because nothing screams "comedy" quite like fintech. Despite his serious day job, he still finds time to write on his blog at schlaff.com where he shares the kind of quirky, offbeat thoughts that leave readers wondering whether they've just read something profound or just mildly confused.

Hysterical Archivist
Donald Watson ‘59

Donald Watson ’59 is an architect, author, and artist. Art Editor of The Record in 1959, he did what his mother instructed, not to accept the invitation to be on the staff of Playboy. He instead pursued architecture, including a teaching career at Yale Architecture School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His is now retired and released on his own recognizance, which is limited. He writes books for architects, which he fully illustrates because architects do not read, they look at pictures. He is The Yale Record’s Hysterical Archivist, which means that if you have old issues of the Record, he wants them. If you have other issues, he refers you to Sally.
